Typically most sheds come with a felt roof membrane. Felt roof membranes deteriorate faster than the treated/tanalised timber used in the construction of sheds and summer houses. It is worth upgrading any shed/summer house roof with EPDM rubber due to its lasting properties that will keep your shed in better condition for longer.
Sheds and outbuildings that are detached from the main property do not normally need to comply to building regulations. The shedcover EPDM is our most cost effective membrane for areas where it is not necessary to comply to building regulations.
The shed cover membrane is the same thickness and identical specification to the one piece EPDM which makes this the most cost effective solution for detached outbuildings.
Recovering a Shed
All you will need to recover an existing garden shed is:
- ShedCover Rubber Membrane (Allow 100mm to 200mm extra on all edges)
- Water based Deck Adhesive Adhesive is applied to the roof deck using a paint roller.
- In most cases the existing timber fascias/barge boards can be re-used to fix the membrane around the perimeter of the shed roof.
